Practice Schedule
This year we will start practice on Monday August 4th. Practice will run Monday through Thursday throughout the remainder of the summer. Once school is back in session, practice will drop to Tuesday through Thursday.
All players should arrive at Water Street field at the start of practice and be ready to start on time. Remember to bring plenty of water and apply bug spray and sunscreen as needed before practice starts.

Each year, the first 3 days of practices will be conditioning only. Players will not be wearing any equipment including helmets. This is to get all players acclimated and ready to play in full pads in the following weeks. Please note that this is a mandatory requirement. Should your player miss one of these conditioning practices, they may not practice with full pads until they have completed the 3 days of conditioning.
Behavior Policy
All players and spectators are expected to adhere to the code of conduct signed during the registration process.
Fighting, intimidation, bullying, use of illegal substances, or disrespect for teammates, board members, officials, volunteers, or other spectators during practices or games will not be tolerated. If consistent abuse of this policy continues, the player and family will no longer be allowed to participate in any Palmer Youth Cowboys functions. No refunds will be provided.
Please remember that each player and spectator is a representative of the Palmer Cowboys Youth Football & Cheer Association. Players and spectators should always conduct themselves in a proper manner and display good sportsmanship.
Let the players play, let the coaches coach, let the officials officiate and let the spectators be positive!
Weather Policy
Football and Cheer practices will be held rain or shine! If the weather is unfavorable in terms of lightning or field conditions, a coach or board member will notify players within 30 minutes of the scheduled practice time. If there is only a chance of thunderstorms or light rain, practice will be held.
If lightning occurs during practice, everyone is required to get off the field and go to their vehicles as it is the policy of the SAFL to pause practice immediately. Everyone should remain in their vehicles until instructed to either resume practice or go home. If Lightning flashes the league requires a 15-minute delay from the flash. Every time we have a new lightning flash the 15 minute clock resets per league rules. Coaches and board members will make the determination to either resume practice (if time allows) or to end practice.
We need volunteers!!!
Palmer Cowboys Youth Football & Cheer is an all-volunteer organization. Many Board members and coaches spend endless hours planning, and preparing for the upcoming season so players can have the best experience. We always need new volunteers and there are many ways you can contribute to making a difference. Send an email or talk to a board member about coaching, fundraising, volunteering in the snack shack or even offering rides to children. Every bit counts and will help make the best experiance for all involved.
